Meet Samuel
I am originally from Charlotte, NC, I moved to Suwanee, GA, to be near my in-laws, finding it to be a uniquely wonderful place to settle down with my wife. Beyond our roles as a psychiatrist and music teacher, we enjoy exploring green spaces around town and backpacking through the National Park System. Professionally, as a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist, I advocate for evidence-based practices, combining the latest clinical research with a patient-centered approach. Emphasizing the psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of suffering and healing, my training in psychotherapy, particularly Rogerian person-centered therapy, informs all my visits, rejecting the notion of mere "medication management." I contribute to education through adjunct professorships, teaching psychiatric residents, medical students, and nurse practitioners, and serve on the editorial board of Psychiatric Services, the American Psychiatric Association's leading publication on serious mental illness and community psychiatry.
