Meet Lisa
Lisa Fuechtmann, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor with nearly two decades of experience in mental health. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling from St. Xavier University, where she focused on school and community counseling. Additionally, Lisa is a Type 73 Certified School Counselor, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and a Distance Credentialed Counselor. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from DePaul University and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Dominican University. Throughout her career, Lisa has worked with both children and adults in various settings, including schools, community mental health organizations, and most recently, as an embedded Military Family Life Counselor with the U.S. Navy. She founded the school counseling program at Latino Youth High School, where she supported adolescents facing challenges such as bullying, family issues, behavioral problems, self-harming behaviors, and academic struggles. Lisa is also a former elementary school teacher and currently serves as a university professor. Her work with adults has included treating anxiety, depression, substance abuse, marital issues, hypnotherapy, caregiver support, anger management, and the care of chronic mental illnesses. She has extensive experience in supervisory roles and has provided clinical supervision to therapists in training. Lisa primarily works from a cognitive-behavioral framework, incorporating reality therapy and psychodynamic techniques. Her areas of specialty include marital and relationship counseling, military and veterans' issues, substance abuse, anxiety, work-life balance, self-esteem, domestic violence, chronic mental illness, personality disorders, and hypnotherapy.
