Meet Thad William
With over thirty years in helping professions, I began my career as an ordained Lutheran pastor specializing in Youth and Family Ministry, gaining extensive experience counseling individuals through life events like marriage, grief, and navigating adolescence. My desire to continue in a helping role led me to pursue formal mental health education, becoming licensed in 2017. I’ve worked in various settings, from community mental health to private group practices, gaining broad experience with diverse client needs and presenting concerns. I'm comfortable addressing common conditions such as depression, anxiety, grief, and mood regulation. I'm particularly drawn to and have experience with religious trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, couple's counseling, and men's issues. While I work effectively with all ages over 14, I'm especially skilled with adolescents and young adults. As a talk psychotherapist, I strongly resonate with Carl Rogers' Client-Centered therapy and Gestalt therapy principles. My role is to create a safe, trusted relationship through empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard, supporting you in gaining self-awareness and finding healing from within.
