Meet Shashank
I am a double board-certified nurse practitioner practicing psychiatry in Atlanta, GA, since 2015. My healthcare career began in India in 1994, where I practiced primary care and psychiatry for nearly fourteen years before moving to Atlanta in 2008. After relocating to the U.S., I furthered my education by graduating from the combined bachelor's-master's accelerated nurse-practitioner program at Kennesaw State University in 2011. Later, I completed the post-master's mental health nurse practitioner program at the University of Cincinnati. I am proud to have been a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Golden Key International Honor Societies. My clinical expertise spans a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and depression, among many other less common diagnoses. I am passionate about diagnosing and treating these conditions, helping individuals manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. I have worked with a diverse range of populations, from rural Georgia adults via telepsychiatry to children and adolescents in Fulton County, GA. Additionally, I have served at various mental health and addiction crisis centers in Atlanta. I approach each patient with the same respect and empathy I would want for my own loved ones. I live in Atlanta with my wife, Ritu, and our daughter, Sia. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, staying connected with my aging father in India via FaceTime, and pursuing hobbies like cooking, watching Bollywood and Hollywood movies, and reading about current affairs and history. I also love bonding with my daughter over her favorite music.
