Meet Shahnaz
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021. Before becoming a provider, I worked extensively as a mental health nurse in a psychiatric facility, where I built a strong foundation in supporting individuals through complex mental health challenges. I provide care across the lifespan, offering psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. I am skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, and I take a holistic approach that integrates both mental and physical health. My treatment philosophy is rooted in empathy, cultural competence, and evidence-based practice. I place a strong emphasis on patient education and therapeutic communication, helping individuals understand their treatment options and empowering them to prioritize their mental well-being. My goal is to partner with each client to identify what may be standing in the way of a healthier, more fulfilling life, and to walk alongside them on the path to recovery.
