Meet Messay
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to treat patients with mental health disorders across the lifespan. I specialize in managing medications and treating mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and depression. My approach is grounded in a humanistic philosophy that values holistic care for mind, body, and spirit, along with personalized, culturally sensitive treatment. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse in complex neuro/trauma and medical intensive care units, which enriches my ability to integrate critical care experience with talk therapy and medication management. I am bilingual in English and Amharic, enabling me to provide culturally appropriate care. I am passionate about supporting teens and young adults struggling with self-identity and anxiety related to their uncertain future. I believe that mindset shapes behavior and that self-awareness, self-control, and self-improvement are essential for mental wellness. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “A man is what he thinks about all day long,” which inspires my work to help clients cultivate positive, healthy thoughts and actions.
