Meet Matthew
I am a Therapist and have been providing mental health services for 7 years in outpatient and in home settings. I see Individuals and Couples and I address Adjustment disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post-traumatic stress. "We repeat what we don't repair.". Matthew Caston is an LCPC with several years of experience working with adolescents and adults with a wide variety of personal and clinical issues (mood, anxiety, behavioral, life transition, men's/women's issues, relationships, trauma, etc.). As a therapist, Matthew strives to meet people “where they’re at.”. "I see great value in any person who is forthcoming about the issues that brings them to counseling. It shows a strong level of vulnerability that I both admire and respect. With such a large stigma surrounding mental health, I believe it's helpful to learn how to become adaptive to stressors; when we're vulnerable to them and why, how the environment plays a role, and what benefit could it develop in do so." Former clients experience Matthew as having a good sense of humor, warm, thoughtful, and being a strong ally in tough moments of life. He has several years of experience utilizing empirically-based theories (DBT, CBT, ACT, IFS, EFT, MI) under an integrative framework to help enact progress in treatment and develop an effective therapeutic relationship. He works with parents, coaches, teachers, students and families to help them get moving in the direction they most need to create the change they seek.
