Meet Laura
I began my career in healthcare as a registered nurse in burn and trauma critical care, the emergency room, and surgery, where I witnessed the connection between physical and mental health. These experiences, along with my own early encounters with mental health, shaped my empathy and passion for providing compassionate, whole-person care. I also hold an undergraduate degree in nutrition and chemistry and have worked as a small business owner, which further informs my holistic approach. Becoming a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner allowed me to integrate my personal and professional history to better serve others. My training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and clinical work with Psychiatric Professionals of Georgia, public health agencies, and ministries serving those impacted by homelessness and human trafficking. I specialize in treating anxiety, adjustment disorder, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and trauma. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and individualized, with a focus on building trust and empowering clients to heal and thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy the outdoors, running with my husky, and spending time with my family in North Georgia.
