Meet Katherine
I’ve always had a passion for helping others, which led me to pursue a career in social work. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to work toward their personal goals. My journey began with supporting survivors of domestic violence, where I focused on connecting individuals to local resources and ensuring their safety. After earning my degree in 2012, I became a case manager assisting adults 18 and older in securing long-term care placements within their communities and establishing supportive services in their homes. Following graduate school, I relocated to Chicago and joined the Alzheimer’s Association as a counselor. There, I supported individuals and their families in navigating the complex challenges of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. In addition to my work with older adults, I have experience supporting individuals diagnosed with eating disorders, using treatment approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Most recently, I worked in a community mental health setting, providing care to individuals living with severe mental illness. My approach to therapy is person-centered and strength-based. I believe in meeting people where they are and empowering them to move forward at their own pace. Building on each individual’s strengths, I strive to create a supportive space for growth, healing, and lasting change.
