Meet Clarissa
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, holding a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's in Victim Studies, both from Sam Houston State University. I started working as a therapist in 2019, providing care in both residential and private practice settings. Before that, I was an advocate for sexual assault and domestic violence victims, which deeply informs my compassionate approach to therapy. My therapeutic approach integrates various evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and client-centered therapies, alongside motivational interviewing and mindfulness practices. I work with individuals starting at age 13. My specialties include adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma processing, grief and loss, women's issues, and LGBTQ+ issues. I also have experience supporting clients with addiction and eating disorders. I am passionate about helping teens and adults navigate a wide range of mental health challenges and life transitions. I believe therapy is a powerful space for growth, healing, and self-discovery. As a friendly and relatable professional, my aim is to empower you to become your healthiest, most authentic self. I approach each person with respect, compassion, and sensitivity, gently challenging unhelpful thought patterns to encourage your personal growth. I deeply value your unique perspective and work to build a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship. Together, we will create a safe space for you to step outside your comfort zone and explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and engaging with the world.
