One’s ability to find and embrace their true authentic self is the first step on a path to fulfillment and freedom. How you show up in the world every day depends on the investment you make in you. As individuals we are shaped by the experiences that we have throughout our life. I believe that each experience, whether we deem it positive or negative, has the ability to reveal something to us or about us. When we find perspective in our story, our entire outlook can shift. I also believe that every person carries unique strengths and that those strengths are the key to their healing and wholeness. In our time together, we will work to build on your innate and foundational strengths as they chart your path forward. As stated best by Brené Brown, “…true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.” I was raised in the small town of Apopka, Florida just north of Orlando; yes, the world of all things Mickey Mouse. My path to becoming a therapist has been a winding road. Prior to transitioning to counseling full time, I spent 17 years in the Public Procurement sector. Since becoming a therapist, it has been my absolute honor to hold a non-judgmental and compassionate space for others on their journey of self-discovery. I received my Master of Social Work from Georgia State University. Therapeutically, I draw from a variety of modalities; most often psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, person-centered, compassion-focused, Motivational Interviewing and Internal Family Systems. I work with adults struggling with identity development, trauma, grief & loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, family conflict and infertility. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as a little retail therapy every now and then.
